By entering the ““Better Homes and Gardens – South African Adventure Competition” (“the Competition”), you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of Australia 18 years of age or older where the Channel Seven signal and its affiliated networks (“Affiliates”) signals are received.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of the Seven Network (Operations) Limited, 2Max Investments Pty Ltd, Mnet Mobile Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The Competition commences on Thursday 28 August 2014 at 19:00 (AEST) and concludes on Monday 1
September 2014 at 09:00 (AEST) (“the Competition Period”).
3.2 In order to enter, viewers must watch Better Homes and Gardens (“the Program”) on the Seven Network
(“the Broadcaster”) and affiliates during the Competition Period when a Competition segment inviting
viewers to enter (or any replacement program broadcast in the Better Homes and Gardens timeslot).
3.3 In order to enter the draw, viewers must either:
a) Send a text message/SMS registering their full name, suburb and state to 1977 7677 (Charge $0.55 – Helpline 1300 851 419);
b) Telephone 1902 55 77 06 (Charge $0.55 fixed – Helpline 1300 851 419) and register their name, address (including postcode) and contact daytime telephone number (including STD area code).
c) Use your smartphone to log on to https://enter.2urmob.com/bhg and click on the Better Homes and Gardens competition link and select the option you prefer (number of entries – 1 entry for $0.55, 2 entries for $1.05, 5 entries for $2.50, 15 entries for $7.00 or 20 entries for $9.00).
3.4 All entrants in the Competition may enter up to a maximum of 100 times. For SMS entries, once the maximum of 100 entries have been received from a single mobile account, entrants will receive a reply SMS message notifying them of this limit. If it is otherwise discovered that an entrant has entered more than 100 times in total, via any entry mechanic, only the first 100 entries will be included in the draw and further entries will not be considered, nor will the cost of the entries be refunded to entrants.
3.5 For SMS entrants, each entry must be charged to a mobile account and SMS entries via the internet, computer generation or “scripting” are invalid and will not be accepted.
3.6 Entries must be received by Monday 1 September 2014 at 09:00 (AEST). The time of entry will in each case be the time the SMS message or 1902 telephone call is received by the Mnet Mobile Pty Ltd database.
3.7 SMS entrants will receive a reply message to their entry.
3.8 Each SMS entry will be charged at premium rate, namely $0.55 (including GST), which covers the entry and
the reply message.
3.9 The maximum 1902 call cost is $0.55 (including GST). 1902 call costs will be higher from mobile phones.
4. PRIZES
4.1 There will be one (1) prize winner who will receive the prize package detailed in clause 4.2.

Total maximum prize pool value is $30,060 AUD. Prize value is in Australian dollars and correct as at the date of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is taken.
4.3 The prize winner and their travel companions must abide by the following conditions:
a) The prize winner and nominated travel companions must provide a scan of their valid passport to the
Promoter and Prize Sponsor by 1 December 2014 at 09:00 AEST
b) Any travel companion nominated by the winner to travel on this prize package aged under 18 years
old must be under the supervision of their parent or legal guardian and also sign a legal release form. Travel companions under the age of 8 years old are not permitted to take part in this prize package unless explicitly approved by the Promoter and Prize Sponsor.
c) In regards to accommodation detailed in clause 4.2, travel companions under the age of 13 years of age must room share with their legal guardian or an approved travel companion over the age of 18 years old.
d) Any travel companion nominated by the winner to travel on this prize package, aged under 18 years old, accompanied by their parent or legal guardian will have to provide an unabridged birth certificate along with details of the child’s father and mother in the form of an affidavit signed by both parents. This will apply even when both parents are travelling with their child/ren. When children are travelling with guardians, these adults are required to produce affidavits from parents proving permission for the children to travel. In the event that a parent of the travelling child is deceased a death certificate must be produced. Airlines will refuse travel to the prize winner and any travel companions under 18 years of age if they are not in possession of these documents.
e) The prize winner and their travel companions must commence and complete their travel between the following dates; 15 November 2014 until 01 September 2015 (inclusive). Block out periods apply unless explicitly approved by the Prize Sponsor: 10 Dec 2014 – 10 Jan 2015, Easter, and all public holidays and long weekends.

f) There can be no changes made to travel arrangements once itineraries or tickets are issued, including no name changes. The Sponsor will inform the prize winner of their flight times and dates no later than 5 (five) weeks before scheduled departure.
g) Upon winner confirmation, the prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to fulfil the prize or any element of the prize as stated. If the prize has not been finalised with the Sponsor by 30 April 2015 then it will be forfeited.
h) The travel companions nominated by the prize winner, once nominated are not transferable
i) As the prize airfares and accommodation are subject to availability at the time of booking the prize
winner must confirm their travel dates and times no later 2 February 2015
j) Any changes made to the booking by the prize winners or their travel companions, including extending
the trip, are at the winner’s expense and must be arranged by the winner.
k) The winners and their travelling companion must travel on the same flight, at the same time, for all
flights included in this prize package from the winners nearest Australian capital city airport (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth). The Promoter will not be liable for any cost arising from or otherwise related to delays or cancellations to the connecting flight(s) booked by the winner, either to or from the nominated capital city and their residence. All booking and costs related to obtaining, amending or otherwise concerning the connecting flight(s) to/from their residence and the nominated capital city are the responsibility of the winner.
l) The Promoter will not be liable for any cost arising from or otherwise related to additional accommodation required between connecting flight(s) booked by the winner, either to or from the nominated capital city and their residence.
m) Any changes to reservation arrangements once winners have advised us of preferred dates of travel will incur a $400 fee ($100 per person) per change at the winners’ expense.
n) The prize winner is responsible for ensuring that all those travelling have valid passports, applicable visas and additional required documentation for any traveller under the age of 18 years. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any loss or delay that may occur as a result of any passport, visa, birth certificate or signed affadavit not being produced in time for travel. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if the prize winner’s nominated travel companions cannot travel because of non- compliance with any passport, visa, immigration or South African Government requirements.
o) Travel insurance is not included in the cost of the prize package and is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
p) Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses related to the prize become the responsibility of the prize winners and their nominated travel companions including but not limited to all drinks, additional meals, additional touring, laundry, travel insurance (mandatory), items of a personal nature, all spending money, additional transfers, gratuities, all room amenity charges, incidentals, mini-bar, in-room video, laundry, room service, local concession and/or community fees (paid locally), telephone calls, activities, energy surcharges, services charges, visas (if required), passports and all other ancillary costs. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the prize winner at check-in to the hotel or lodge, for all incidental charges.
4.4 In accepting the prize, the winners and their nominated travel companions agree to participate in and co- operate with all reasonable media editorial requests, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, and the winners grant the Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
4.5 The prize winners and their nominated travel companions agree they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
4.6 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the prize winners and their nominated travel companions must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the Promoter’s requirements.
4.7 Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash and are not transferable or exchangeable under any circumstance
4.8 Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize winner and
their nominated travel companions.
4.9 The Promoter may require the prize winners and their nominated travel companions to sign a waiver of
liability and indemnity in the form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
4.10 Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
4.11 The promoter may vary these terms and conditions at its discretion.

5. HOW TO WIN
5.1 There will be one (1) prize winner drawn from the national pool of SMS, 1902, and WAP entrants who will
win the relevant prize package detailed in clause 4.2.
Each entrant who has entered the Competition in accordance with these terms and conditions and registered all necessary registration information within the date and times detailed in clause 3.2 via the method(s) set out in Clause 3.3 (“Qualifying Entrant”) will be entered into the draw. Entries that do not comply with any of the terms and conditions, may be deemed invalid and a further draw(s) will be conducted in its place. The winner draw will take place at Mnet Mobile Pty Ltd, Level 1, 16 Anster Street, Adelaide, South Australia 5000 on Monday 1 September 2014 at 09:15 (AEST).
5.2 The winner will be notified by a phone call by a member of the Seven Network Marketing Department within two (2) days of the draw and a letter advising the winner of their prize will also be express posted. The winners’ details will be published in the Public Notes section of The Australian newspaper on Monday 8 September 2014.
5.3 The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
5.4 The Promoter may in its absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to a winner being notified or a winner’s name being announced if it is discovered that the winner did not enter the Competition in
accordance with these terms and conditions. In these circumstances, an additional draw will be conducted.
5.5 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner (and any companions) may be required to sign a legal
release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
5.6 Subject to state government legislation, the winner must accept the prize package by Monday 1 December
2014 at 09:30 (AEDT). In the event of an unclaimed prize, a redraw will take place at Mnet Mobile Pty Ltd, Level1,16AnsterStreet,Adelaide,SouthAustralia5000onMonday1December2014at09:45(AEDT). The winner will be notified by a phone call by a member of the Seven Network Marketing Department within two (2) days of the draw and a letter advising the winner of their prize will also be express posted. The winners’ details will be published in the Public Notes section of The Australian newspaper on the dates Monday 8 December 2014.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to state government legislation.
6.2 Seven Network (Operations) Limited, 2MAX Investments P/L, Mnet Mobile Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
6.3 Seven Network (Operations) Limited, 2MAX Investments P/L, Mnet Mobile Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:

whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the Competition; or in the acceptance or participation in any prize;
as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person.
in relation to failure of an SMS entry message to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion; or
in relation to any damage or loss to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer software, computer equipment or internet connection resulting from or related to participation in this Promotion;
any variation in Prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions;
any technical difficulties, technical error or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); or any error, omission, interruption, deletion, delay, defect, theft, unauthorised access or third party interference.
6.4 Seven Network (Operations) Limited assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available, subject to state government legislation.

6.5 If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to state government legislation.

7.3 Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. MNet Mobile Pty Ltd (in respect of SMS and 1902 entries) and Yahoo!7 on behalf of Seven Network (Operations) Limited (ABN 65 052 845 262) and its related entities (“Seven”), is collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying winners and understanding our audiences. Seven will otherwise handle your personal information in accordance with Seven’s Privacy Policy which is available on our website at http://www.sevenwestmedia.com.au/privacy-policies (and which contains information regarding how you can access your personal information, correct it and/ or make a complaint about our handling of your personal information).
