Grand Final Ticket Competition
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By entering the ‘Grand Final Ticket Competition’ (“Competition”), you are agreeing to the following terms and
conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of Western Australia 18 years of age or older, or if the
entrant is under 18, they must have parental or guardian permission and supervision.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of the Seven Network (Operations) Limited, Australia’s Got Talent,
and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The Competition commences on Monday 5th
August 2019 at 09:00 AWST and concludes on Friday 9th
August 2019 at 12:00 AWST (“Competition Period”).

3.2 To enter, readers must obtain a code word for each entry period from reading The Today section of The West
Australian (“the Promoter”) during the Competition Period, and register the codeword online at
thewest.com.au/win between Monday 5 August 2019 09:00am AWST and Friday 9 August 2019 12:00pm
AWST. All entry fields must be completed and have the correct code word to be considered a valid entry.
3.3 Daily code words will be published in editions of The West Australian in the Today section between 5th-9th
August 2019. Each codeword will be counted as unique and a new opportunity to enter.
3.4 Eligible participants are permitted 1 entry per code word. Entrants found to have entered more than once
per codeword, will have their subsequent entries disqualified at the Promoter’s sole discretion.
3.5 All entries must be received by the end date and times detailed in clause 3.1. The time of entry will in each
case be the time the entry is received by thewest.com.au database.
3.6 If any entries are deemed at the Promoter’s final discretion to be made via “scripting”, those entries will be
deemed invalid and will not be accepted.
3.7 Neither the Promoters nor any prize suppliers are responsible for any data or other information related to
this competition that may be lost, damaged as a result of any computer software or hardware malfunction.
Any issues occurring as a result of computer/server/software problems will be rectified as quickly as possible.
4. PRIZES
4.1 There will be ONE (1) major prize winner who will win the major prize detailed in clause 4.2.

4.3 Total value for the major prize packages is (up to) AUD $2,313.90. Prize value is correct as at the date of
printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date
on which the prize is taken.
4.4 In accepting the prize the winners agree to participate in and cooperate with all reasonable media editorial
requests, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, and the winners grant The
Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide
and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
4.5 The winner is responsible for all costs associated with taking the prize (including travel and accommodation if
necessary, or unless otherwise stated) as well as spending money, meals, drinks and any other incidentals.
4.6 MAJOR PRIZE CONDITIONS
In conjunction with clause 4.2, major prize winner must abide by the following conditions:
Travel
a) The winner and their nominated travel companions must abide by the full prize package
itinerary as well as all terms and conditions.
b) The travel companions are to be nominated by the prize winner. Once nominated, they
cannot be transferred.
c) Unless explicitly approved by the Promoter, the winner and the winner’s travel companions
must be 18 years of age or older, or if under 18, must be accompanied by a parent, supervisor or
legal guardian, and the winner and the winner’s travel companions must be residents of
Australia.
d) The winner will where required need to sign a prize acceptance form including liability and
publicity waiver within 2 weeks of being notified as the winner to formally accept the
prize.
e) The winner’s travel companions will where required to sign a prize acceptance form
including liability and publicity waiver before the prize booking can be made.
f) The major prize package must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if
the winner is unable to use the prize or any element of the prize as stated.
g) The winner and their nominated travel companions must travel from Perth to Sydney Airport on
the same flight and at the same time. The Promoter will not be liable for any cost arising
from or otherwise related to delays or cancellations to the connecting flight(s) booked by
the winner. All booking and costs related to obtaining, amending or otherwise concerning
the connecting flight(s) to/from their residence and the nominated capital city are the
responsibility of the winner and their travel companions.
h) The prize winner and their travel companions must stay at the same accommodation.
i) No compensation or alternative travel plans will be arranged should the Prize winner and/
or their companions miss their outbound or return flights or fail to meet any check in
requirements for any reason. These costs will be the responsibility and expense of the
winner and travel companions.

j) A credit card imprint may be required from the winner at check-in to the accommodation
for all incidental charges.
k) Once the booking is confirmed no changes can be made, unless otherwise authorised by
the Promoter in its absolute discretion and if permitted will incur a fee of $150 including
GST plus supplier charges which is payable by the winner.
l) Comprehensive travel insurance is not included in the prize but is highly recommended
and at the expense of the winner and their travel companions. If the winner and their
travel companions choose not to purchase travel insurance, they will be required to
complete a travel insurance waiver form acknowledging that they understand the benefits
of travel insurance but decline to take out a policy.
m) In the event that an element of the prize is cancelled or postponed for any reason, the
winner forfeits the specified element and no cash alternative offer will be granted in lieu
of this element of the prize.
n) Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all other expenses related to the
prize become the responsibility of the winners and their nominated travel companions.
Subject to the prize stipulated in clause 4.2, the prize winner and their travel companions
are responsible for all expenses including but not limited to travel insurance, visas,
passports, items of a personal nature, meals, laundry, telephone calls, additional nights or
upgrades etc. transfers, room amenity charges, selected beverages, incidentals, mini-bar,
in-room video, room service, telephone calls, activities, energy surcharges, services
charges, passports and all other ancillary costs.
o) The Promoter and Prizing Agency will not be liable for any cost arising from or otherwise related
to delays or cancellations to the connecting flight(s) booked by the winner, either to or from the
nominated capital city and their residence. All booking and costs related to obtaining, amending
or otherwise concerning the connecting flight(s) to/from their residence and the nominated
capital city are the responsibility of the winner.
p) The winner and their travel companions acknowledge and accept any activities comprising the
prize package are potentially dangerous and may result personal injury, incapacity, or damage
to property or other losses.
q) Compliance with local health and government requirements is the responsibility of the prize
winner and their nominated traveling companions.
r) The major prize package cannot be redeemed for cash and is not transferable or
exchangeable.
s) The winner and travel companions agree they will not sell or otherwise provide their story
and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
Money
a) The prize winner will receive AUD $500 in one lump sum in the form of a cheque made
payable to the eligible prize winner within 28 days of the draw and only after proof of
age and identity has been verified by the Promoter.
5. HOW TO WIN
5.1 WINNER DRAW:
There will be one (1) prize winner randomly drawn from all valid entries. A valid entry consists of the
completion of the registration form on thewest.com.au/win, including (but not limited to) personal details
and a correct codeword. Only one entry per daily codeword per person is valid. The draw will be held at
Newspaper House, 50 Hasler Rd Osborne Park 6017 WA on 9 August 2019 from 15:00 AWST.
5.2 There will be One (1) Major Prize Winner drawn within the registration period (see clause 3.1) from the total
pool of Qualifying Entrants as per clause 3.1 All winners will be notified by a phone call by the Network
Marketing Department within two business days from the draw.
5.3 The Promoter’s decision is final.
5.4 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner (and any companions) may be required to sign a legal
release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
5.5 The Promoter may in its absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to a winner being notified or a
winner’s name being announced if it is discovered that the winner did not enter the Competition in
accordance with these terms and conditions. In these circumstances, no additional draw will be conducted.

Subject to state government legislation, and if required, an unclaimed prize draw will take place on
Wednesday 14 August 2019 at 10:00 AWST at Newspaper House, 50 Hasler Rd Osborne Park 6017 WA. The
Winner will be notified by phone.
5.6 The Promoter may in its absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to a winner being notified or a
winner’s name being announced if it is discovered that the winner did not enter the Competition in
accordance with these terms and conditions. In these circumstances, an additional draw will be conducted.
5.7 The Promoter’s decision is final, and The Promoter will not enter in to correspondence regarding the result.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the
Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms
and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of
God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the
Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to state government
legislation.
6.2 West Australian Newspapers Ltd, Seven Network (Operations) Limited, Australia’s Got Talent and their
associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late,
lost or misdirected mail.
6.3 West Australian Newspapers Ltd, Seven Network (Operations) Limited, Australia’s Got Talent and their
associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including
but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a) during the entry process or the draw;
b) in the acceptance, participation or use of any element(s) of the prize;
c) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
d) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any material,
including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other
person;
e) in relation to failure of entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems; or
f) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines or
mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this promotion.
6.4 West Australian Newspapers Ltd, Seven Network (Operations) Limited assumes no responsibility for any
error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line
failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take
any action that may be available, subject to state government legislation.
6.5 If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not
limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the
control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper
conduct of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual
who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify
or suspend the Competition, subject to state government legislation.
6.6 By entering the competition, and by collecting a prize, the winner acknowledges and accepts that driving,
travel and any other activities comprising the prize, are inherently dangerous and may result in death, injury,
incapacity, damage to property or other losses. Neither the Promoter nor the Sponsor nor the Prize Provider
are responsible for any acts of god, such as adverse weather conditions or industrial action or civil commotion
that may occur whilst the winner is travelling.
7. PROMOTER’S DETAILS
7.1 The Promoter is West Australian Newspapers Ltd (ABN 98 008 667 632) of 50 Hasler Road, Osborne Park WA
6017.
7.2 Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Western Australian Newspapers Limited and its related
entities (“WAN”) is collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this
Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying winners and understanding our audiences.
WAN will otherwise handle your personal information in accordance with WAN’s Privacy Policy which is
available on our website at http://www.sevenwestmedia.com.au/privacy-policies (and which contains
information regarding how you can access your personal information, correct it and/ or make a complaint
about our handling of your personal information). By providing your personal information below, you agree
to the terms of the Privacy Policy. Without limiting the foregoing, WAN may disclose the entrant’s personal
information to its related entities, business partners and external service providers for research and profiling
purposes as well as other purposes reasonably related to the entrant’s relationship with WAN. In addition, by

7.3 If an Entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in clause 7.2. they must write to
West Australian Newspapers Ltd by email to privacy@wanews.com.au or post to Privacy Officer, GPO Box
D162, Perth WA 6840 and West Australian Newspapers Limited will ensure that the details are not used for
that purpose.
7.4 It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name, photo, video and suburb published
for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, participants signify their acceptance of
all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.
