Terms and Conditions
1. Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within
the promotional advertisements form part of these terms and conditions. By
participating, in this promotion entrants agree to be bound by these terms and
conditions.
2. Only entries with the correct daily code word found in The West Australian from
Monday 21 January 2019 to Friday 15 February 2019 and entered via
thewest.com.au/competitions with their contact details by 3pm WST each day
throughout the promotional period are valid.
3. Entry is open to all residents of Western Australia over the age of 18. Winners under
the age of 18 must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian when claiming and
collecting their prize. Photo identification may be required upon collection of the
prize.
4. Some Fringe Festival performances are only for people over the age of 18.
5. The major prize winner will be drawn at 3.30pm WST every week day from Monday
21 January 2019 to Friday 15 February 2019
6. The first valid entry drawn at random each week day from Monday 21 January 2019
to Friday 15 February 2019 will be deemed the major prize winner. The winner will
receive the following prize:
– 2 mystery tickets to a performance the following evening
7. All additional costs incurred will be at the expense of the winner.
8. The winner will be notified by telephone after the prize draw. In the instance that
the winner cannot be contacted on the phone number provided by 12pm of the day
of the performance (excluding weekends), the prize will be forfeited and a new
winner will be drawn.
9. It will be the winner’s responsibility to redeem the prize from the promoter. No
cartage expenses are included in the prize. Tickets must be collected from the Fringe
World Festival box office.
10. The prize/s must be taken as supplied and is/are neither redeemable for cash nor
transferable. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.
11. It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name and suburb
published for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition,
participants signify their acceptance of all conditions and the requirement to
participate in promotional activity if required.
12. Employees of, Fringe World, Artrage & West Australian Newspapers Limited, their
associated agencies and immediate families, are ineligible to enter.

13. All contestants release from, and indemnify Fringe World, Artrage & West Australian
Newspapers Limited against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of
acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the competition including (but not
limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether
direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or
otherwise.
14. Fringe World, Artrage & West Australian Newspapers Limited and associated
agencies accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury
resulting from the promotion.
15. Entry into this competition signifies acceptance of all conditions. The Promoters’
decision will be final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered
into. The Promoters reserve the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered
necessary without notice.
16. West Australian Newspapers Limited (ABN 98 008 667 632) and its related entities
(“WAN”) are collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and
promoting this Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying
winners and understanding our audiences. WAN will otherwise handle your
personal information in accordance with Seven West Media’s Privacy Policy which
contains information regarding how you can access your personal information,
correct it and/or make a complaint about our handling of your personal information.

personal information, you agree to the terms of these privacy policies. Without
limiting the foregoing, WAN may disclose the entrant’s personal information to their
related entities, business partners and external service providers for research and
profiling purposes as well as other purposes reasonably related to the entrant’s
relationship with them. In addition, by entering this competition, you consent to
WAN using your personal information for the purpose of sending you information
regarding programs, products and services available through them and/ or through
their business partners, and to WAN from time to time sharing your personal
information with carefully selected business partners for the purpose of them
sending you such information directly. We will always provide you with the ability to
opt out of those communications.
17. If an Entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in clause
37 they must write to West Australian Newspapers Ltd by email to
privacy@wanews.com.au or post to Privacy Officer, GPO Box D162, Perth WA 6840
and West Australian Newspapers Limited will ensure that the details are not used
for that purpose.
18. On completion of the prize draw, all entries will be stored for a 12 month period at
The West Australian. This is a mandatory requirement of the Gaming and Wagering
Commission Act 1987.
19. The promoter is West Australian Newspapers Limited Group of 50 Hasler Road
