THE WEEKLY REVIEW’S MUST EAT AWARD
The Weekly Review’s Must Eat Award will recognise and celebrate the best restaurant or cafe dish in
Melbourne, as chosen by readers.
The restaurant behind the winning dish (with the highest amount of votes) will receive the title of ‘The
Weekly Review’s Must Eat Dish of 2018’ and an advertising package with The Weekly Review worth
$15,000. In addition, the winning restaurant or dish will also be the cover star and story of
The Weekly Review’s April 18 issue.
Further to this, two lucky nominators will each win a $400 voucher to use at the winning restaurant.
Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter and regarding the prize(s) form part of these Terms and
Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and
Conditions.
2. This program will only accept nominators, voters and restaurants from Victoria.
3. Nominators under the age of 18 must have parental/guardian approval to enter the draw
and further, the parent/guardian of the entrant must read and consent to these Terms and
Conditions. Parents/guardians may be required by The Weekly Review to enter into a
further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering into this promotion.
4. Employees (and their immediate families) of The Weekly Review and agencies associated
with this program are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following:
spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption),
parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother,
sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
5. The Weekly Review reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and
details of entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence). The Weekly
Review may disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that does not comply with these
Terms and Conditions or, who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may
be accepted at The Weekly Review’s discretion. Failure by The Weekly Review to enforce
any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
6. Incomplete, indecipherable or incorrect entries will be deemed invalid.
7. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, The Weekly Review reserves the right,
in its sole discretion, to determine the identity.
8. Nominations: in order for a reader to nominate a dish, a reader must complete the
following steps during the Nomination Period outlined in clause 22:
1. Follow The Weekly Review on Facebook or Instagram
2. Post a photo of their favourite dish with the details of the restaurant or café
3. Include the hashtag #TWRMustEat and tag @TheWeeklyReview.
9. Nominator Prizes: two lucky nominators will each win a $400 voucher to use at the
winning restaurant.
10. All readers who nominate a dish as per these Terms and Conditions are automatically in
the draw for the Nominator Prizes.
11. The Nominator Prize winners will be selected via an electronic draw, which will take place
at 11am on Monday, April 16, at the offices of The Weekly Review at 380 City Road,
Southbank, Victoria, 3006.
12. If a Nominator Prize winner is under the age of 18, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s
nominated parent or guardian on the winner’s behalf.
13. Finalists selection: at the conclusion of the Nomination Period (March 15), The Weekly
Review will select five (5) finalists, which they deem to be the best dishes.
14. The Weekly Review’s decision on the finalists will be final and no correspondence will be
entered into.
15. The five (5) finalists will be notified by phone or email in the week commencing Monday,
March 19.
16. Voting: readers will be encouraged to visit the voting page at
www.theweeklyreview.com.au/musteat during the Voting Period as outlined in clause 22
and place a vote for their preferred finalist.
17. Readers will be restricted to one (1) vote each.
18. The winner will be the finalist who has received the highest number of votes during the
Voting Period. It will be announced in the April 18 issue.
19. Major Prize: the restaurant behind the winning dish will receive the title of ‘The Weekly
Review’s Must Eat Dish of 2018’ and an advertising package with The Weekly Review
worth $15,000. In addition, the winning restaurant or dish will also be the cover star and
story of The Weekly Review’s April 18 issue.
20. If there is an equal number of votes received for two (2) or more finalists an electronic
random draw will be held to determine the winner of the 2018 Must Eat Award. This draw
will take place at 11am on Monday, April 9, at the offices of The Weekly Review at 380 City
Road, Southbank, Victoria, 3006.
21. All prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

24. Entrants consent to The Weekly Review using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in
the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any
media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this
promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed
and/or supplied by the Promoter.
25. If this program is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as
reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of The Weekly
Review, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud,
The Weekly Review reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted
by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory
authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
26. Any costs associated with accessing The Weekly Review’s website is the entrant’s
responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
27. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that
allows automation of entries or votes is prohibited and will render all entries and/or votes
submitted by that individual invalid.
28. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit,
exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition
and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar
consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable
Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-
Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and
agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or
damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential,
arising in any way out of the program.
29. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable
Guarantees, The Weekly Review (including its respective officers, employees and agents)
is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal
injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special
or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment
malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised
access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered,
damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by The Weekly Review) due to
any reason beyond the reasonable control of The Weekly Review; (d) any variation in prize
value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner
or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
30. As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner must sign any legal documentation as and
in the form required by The Weekly Review and/or prize suppliers in their absolute
discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
31. The Weekly Review collects personal information in order to conduct the program and may,
for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to
agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian
regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Weekly Review
may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional,
marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic
messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any query regarding the
personal information or any request to access, update or correct information to The Weekly
Review. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
