Participation
This competition (“Competition”) is conducted by Suncorp-Metway Limited, ABN 66 010 831 722 AFSL No 229882 Australian Credit Licence number 229882 (“Suncorp Bank”), (“the Promoter”), of Level 28 Brisbane Square, 266 George Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000, ph 131155.

All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter form part of these conditions. By entering, entrants accept these conditions.

The Competition is only open to individuals who are: (i) are Australian residents aged 18 years or older at time of entry; and (ii) are not directors, management or employees, or their immediate family members, of the Promoter or its related companies or agencies associated with the Competition (“Eligible Entrant”).

Competition entry commences at 00:01 on 27 May 2018 and closes at 23:59 on 20 July 2018 (“Entry Period”). Except as otherwise stated, all times are Sydney time.

Entry
To enter the Competition, an Eligible Entrant must, during the Entry Period complete and return to the Promoter an entry by way of one (1) of the following methods:

Via website:
For current Suncorp customers who receive a direct email about the Competition, follow the link to visit www.suncorp.com.au/spendbetterstylebetter and follow the directions to fully complete and submit the entry form; or
For entrants who are not current Suncorp customers, or current Suncorp customers who do not fall into condition 5a, visit www.suncorp.com.au/spendbetterstylebetter and follow the directions to fully complete and submit the entry form, including their full name, postcode, valid email address and telephone number; or
Via mail:
fully and correctly complete the specially marked entry form provided in the Promoter’s direct mail communication received by the Eligible Entrant and then mail the completed entry form using the Reply-Paid Envelope provided with the entry form. Entries must be on the original entry form.
Entrants may only enter the Competition in their own name. Limit of one entry per person. Any subsequent entry from the same person after the first valid entry is received will be deemed invalid for the purpose of entry into this Competition. Entrants who enter using multiple email addresses or aliases may be disqualified.
Further to condition 6, all Eligible Entrants who identify themselves as being a current Suncorp Customer will receive one additional entry in the prize draw. Current Suncorp Customers who enter the Competition through the methods explained in 5a and 5c will automatically be given the extra entry – they do not need to act. Eligible Entrants who confirm that they are a Suncorp Customer by ticking the relevant field on the online entry form in 5b will also be given the extra entry. Eligible Entrants who do not tick that field when then enter online in condition 5b will not be given the extra entry, even if they are actually a current Suncorp Customer.
A Suncorp Customer is a person who, at the time of entry under condition 5, holds at least one (1) Suncorp branded retail product issued by either Suncorp-Metway Limited ABN 66 010 831 722 (“Suncorp Bank”), AAI Limited ABN 48 005 297 807 trading as Suncorp Insurance (“Suncorp Insurance”), Suncorp Life and Superannuation Limited ABN 87 073 979 530 (“Suncorp Life”), Suncorp Portfolio Services Limited ABN 61 063 427 958 AFSL 237905 RSE licence no L0002059 (SPSL) as trustee for Suncorp Master Trust R1056655 ABN 98 30 952 022 (“Suncorp Superannuation”), or nib health funds limited ABN 83 000 124 381 (nib) and arranged by Suncorp Insurance Ventures Pty Ltd ABN 53 158 182 042 (“Suncorp Health Insurance), (collectively referred to as “Suncorp Customers”).
Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Entry Period. Entries will be deemed received at the time that the Promoter is satisfied that all necessary requirements under condition 5 have been met and not at the time of submission by the Eligible Entrant. The Promoter takes no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, illegible or misdirected entries or delays or failures in any equipment or telecommunications service used to administer this Competition.
Cost of entry via the internet is free, but internet connection and usage rates may apply. Eligible Entrants should obtain details of such costs from their service providers.
Eligible Entrants must submit their internet entry manually. The Promoter may reject internet entries if it reasonably forms the opinion that they have been entered using automated entry means or by use of a competition entry service.
The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, declare an entry invalid or disqualify any entrant that tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering, submits an entry not in accordance with these conditions, or otherwise acts in a manner that is disruptive, dishonest or calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this Competition.
The Promoter reserves the right to require an entrant to verify the validity of their entry within the requested time, including but not limited to an entrant’s identity, eligibility, age and address and to disqualify any entrant who does not satisfy any entry criteria in these conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Proof considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion.
Draw and prize(s)
All valid entries received during the Entry Period will be entered into the prize draw. The random prize draw will be held at 12:00pm on 30 July 2018 at Prime Focus, Level 1, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra, VIC 3141.
The Promoter may draw reserve entries in the prize draw and record them in order to use in the instance an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn, or if a prize is not claimed in accordance with these Competition terms (“Reserve Entries”).
There are five (5) prizes to be won. The first five (5) valid entries randomly drawn will win the prize. Each prize is AUD $20,000 which will be transferred to one (1) Australian bank account, nominated by, and in the name of, the prize winner.
Provisions applicable to prize(s) generally
The total prize pool is valued at $100,000 AUD including GST as at 27 May 2018.
Prize winner(s)
The winners will be notified within 2 days of the draw by a phone call and email, using the details provided in their entry.
The prize notification will include instructions as to how the winners are to claim their prize, which will involve the winners providing the details of one (1) nominated Australian bank account in their name.
The prizes will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter requires in its sole discretion.
The name of the winners and their States or Territories of residence will be published in The Australian newspaper on 10 August 2018.
Subject, where relevant, to any directions given by a relevant gaming authority, if: (i) a prize is not claimed by a winner or the Promoter has been unable (despite reasonable efforts) to successfully contact a winner on or before 1 November 2018; or (ii) a winner is determined by the Promoter to be ineligible to win a prize in accordance with these conditions, the relevant prize will be forfeited and instead awarded to another Eligible Entrant from the Reserve Entries drawn under paragraph 14. If there are no available Reserve Entries, a random electronic re-draw will be conducted from a pool of the remaining Eligible Entrants and will take place at 12:00pm on 2 November 2018 at the same location as the original draw, with any unclaimed prizes awarded to the next valid entry randomly drawn in descending order of value (if applicable). The name of any resulting winner and their State or Territory of residence will be published in the Australian newspaper on 16 November 2018. Any redraw prize winner will be notified within 2 days of the redraw by a phone call and email using the details provided in their entry.
General
Eligible Entrants may win a limit of one (1) prize in the Promotion (excluding residents of South Australia).
If an entrant or an entrant’s entry is deemed by the Promoter to have breached these conditions, their entry may be discarded.
If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, or is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, weather event, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of any relevant gaming authorities, where required.
The Promoter assumes no responsibility for: (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service providers, congestion on any carrier network or otherwise; (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of the Competition; (iv) any incorrect or incomplete information which may be communicated in the course of the administering this Competition (whether as a result of one of the foregoing causes or otherwise); or (v) any delay in delivery (when not directly caused by the Promoter or its supplier), or failure of safe delivery of a prize.
All of the Promoter’s decisions in relation to all aspects of this Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
A winner accepts a prize at their own risk. Any tax liability arising as a result of accepting a prize is the responsibility of the winner. Independent financial advice should be sought.
Nothing in these conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the “Relevant Parties”) exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant in connection with the Competition or a prize, including without limitation: (i) any indirect, special, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; and (iii) any liability for personal injury or death. To the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the minimum allowable by law. The Promoter may request that a winner signs and returns a deed of release to this effect as a condition of a prize being awarded. If a winner fails to sign and return such release, they may forfeit the prize.
The winners must, at the Promoter’s request, participate in all promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding winning a prize, free of charge, and consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in promotional material in any media at any time without notification or compensation, financial or otherwise.
Each entrant completely releases Facebook from any and all liability in relation to this Competition, and acknowledges that this Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
Privacy statement and marketing consent
Entrants’ personal information is collected from entrants by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable the Promoter and its agents to manage, administer and promote the Competition and, where applicable, publicise the winner(s). The personal information may also be provided to persons assisting the Promoter, including prize suppliers and deliverers, marketing agencies and IT providers, and to gaming authorities, media outlets and related companies. The Promoter will disclose a winner’s first initial, surname and State/Territory of residence to The Australian newspaper for publication. By participating in the Competition, Eligible Entrants consent to these uses and disclosures of their personal information.
If an Eligible Entrant does not provide the personal information the Promoter requests, the Promoter may not be able to enter them into the Competition. All personal information is handled in accordance with these conditions, the Promoter’s Privacy Statement and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. If an entrant has marked the “opt-in” box on the entry form, the entrant also consents to the retention of their personal information so that the Promoter and any related companies that use the Suncorp brand (“we”/”us”) may use this information from time to time to let the entrant know about news, offers, products and services they might be interested in (by any medium, including telephone, email, mail, SMS or online marketing). In order to carry out direct marketing, entrants’ personal information will be collected from and disclosed to others that provide us with specialised data matching, trending or analytical services, as well as general marketing services. We, and other people who provide us with services, may combine the personal information collected from entrants or others, with the information we, or other companies in the Suncorp Group, or our service providers already hold about entrants. We may also use online targeted marketing, data and audience matching and market segmentation to improve advertising relevance. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using information contained in a marketing message or by making a request during a telephone call
Notwithstanding anything in condition 33 and 34, if on the entry form an entrant requests future contact from the Promoter and/or its related company, Suncorp Insurance and/or Suncorp Bank about one or more Suncorp branded products and services, or provides information about these products or services needs or interests, the entrant understands and agrees that the Promoter will retain their personal information and disclose their personal information to Suncorp Insurance and/or Suncorp Bank so that Suncorp Insurance and/or Suncorp Bank and the Promoter can use this information to contact the entrant at a later date by any means (including telephone, email, mail, SMS or online marketing) about such products and services.
All personal information is handled in accordance with these conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
