Southern Queensland Landscapes – First Nations Art – Win a grand prize of $3,000 OR other prizes

Entrants must be 15 years of age and over to enter (refer to terms and conditions).

HOW YOU CAN ENTER:

3. Artworks must be the Entrant’s original work and not have been previously exhibited or shown in any other competition.

4. To enter the competition, the Entrant must submit an entry form via the website, and deliver their artwork into one of the Organiser’s physical locations (see terms and conditions) on or before the closing date.

5. The medium of art must be a painting, in 2D format, using oils, acrylic or watercolour.

6. Art submissions must be framed and prepared for hanging. Stretched canvas is considered framed. The submission must be mounted and framed with fasteners appropriate for hanging.

7. The maximum artwork dimensions are 1000mm x 1500mm including the frame.
8. Entrants may only enter into one Category, and can only submit one entry with a maximum of two artworks.
9. The winners will be chosen by the judges based on creativity, story telling ability, skill, and adherence to the theme ‘Heal Country’.

IMPORTANT DATES
10. Submissions open Wednesday the 7th of July 2021; with artwork to be delivered from 9am on Monday 4th April 2022 to 4pm Friday 22nd April 2022.
11. Submissions close at 4pm on Friday the 22nd of April 2022.

12. Winners will be announced during NAIDOC Week 2022. More details will be shared closer to NAIDOC Week 2022.

COSTS AND EXPENSES
13. Entry into the competition is free.
14. If artwork is to be sold through the Organiser, a 25% commission (inclusive of GST) on the total sale price applies.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
15. The Organiser is: SOUTHERN QUEENSLAND NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT LTD trading as Southern Queensland Landscapes (ABN 40 627 143 202). The registered office address is 266 Margaret St, Toowoomba City QLD, 4350 Australia.
16. Artworks must be the artist’s original work and must not have been previously exhibited or shown in a competition.
17. The artwork must be an original and not a reproduction (including prints).
18. Artwork must have been completed in the last 12 months, starting from the announcement of the competition.
19. To enter, participants must be 15 years of age or over at the time of entry, and identify as a First Nations person from one or more of the 28 nations in the Southern Queensland Landscapes area and have endorsement by a recognised elder of the Nation they identify with.
20. The total prize pool is $7,500 in cash and $750 in gift vouchers; divided into three categories and a grand prize winner.
21. The grand prize is $3,000; and the winner will be decided from the three category winners.
22. The competition has three categories, based on the age of the Artist as at the closing date (22 April 2022):
a. Category 1 is for Artists between 15 years and 17 years;
b. Category 2 is for Artists between 18 years and 24; and
c. Category 3 is for Artists over 25 years of age.
23. To submit an entry into the competition, the artwork must be received by the Organiser on or before 4pm on 22 April 2022 by delivery by the Artist to any one of the Organiser’s locations which include: 266 Margaret Street Toowoomba, 21 Major Street Roma, 1 Park Street Charleville, 116 Marshall Street Goondiwindi, or 48 Stockyard Street Cunnamulla.
24. Submissions open Wednesday the 7th of July 2021.
25. The closing date for entries will be 4pm Friday the 22nd April 2022. After this date, no further entries will be accepted.

26. The winner will be announced during NAIDOC Week 2022.
27. Transport of the artwork, including any costs or insurance, is the sole responsibility of the Artist.
28. The Organiser does not accept any responsibility for any artworks which are delivered to the Organsier that become damaged, lost or stolen through no negligence of the Organsier. The Artist accepts all risks in relation to the transportation and storage of their artwork.
29. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for entries not received by the Organiser for any reason.
30. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the Organiser’s control.
31. Any changes to the competition will be notified to Entrants as soon as possible by the Organiser.
32. The winners will be announced during NAIDOC Week 2022 (further details about the timing and potential event will be advised in due course).
33. The winners will be chosen by the judges based on creativity, story telling ability, skill, and adherence to the theme ‘Heal Country’.
