City of Sydney – Year of the Tiger drawing competition – Win 1 of 6 gift cards from Riot Art & Craft valued at $150 each

Competition entry:

The entry must be an original drawing by a child residing in the Sydney metropolitan area between the ages of 5 and 12 years.
You must have the consent of your parent or guardian on your completed entry form to enter.
Your parent or guardian must read and agree to your completed entry form and the terms and conditions for your entry to be considered.
If selected as a winner, your parent or guardian consents to the City of Sydney publishing your first name and age, alongside your drawing as part of the Sydney Lunar Festival marketing campaign.
If selected as a winner, and where requested by the City of Sydney, your parent or guardian consents to you and your parent or guardian:
participating in any related media events as part of the festival marketing campaigns
providing comments about the drawing and competition
being photographed
having these comments and photographs published and communicated in media articles, the City of Sydney’s social media channels or any medium used as part of the festival marketing campaign.
Your parent or guardian must accompany you when attending festival related marketing campaign activities, including those described above in clause 1(e).
The City of Sydney will exhibit selected drawings as part of the Sydney Lunar Festival marketing campaign.
Inclusion of any drawings into the festival marketing campaign is subject to selection by the judging panel. The decision of the panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Children of employees and Council representatives of the City of Sydney and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
The City of Sydney reserves the right to cancel or amend this competition or these terms and conditions without prior notice.

Competition period:

Commences: 9am (Sydney time) Thursday 19 August 2021.
Ends: 5pm (Sydney time) Monday13 September 2021.

Entry requirements:

The City of Sydney is looking for fun and playful drawings of tigers that are:
celebrating the Lunar New Year and holding a lucky red envelope or a lantern
hungry and eating your favourite Asian dish – think noodles, sushi or dumplings
thirsty – drinking a bubble tea or sipping from a coconut
performing – think anything from dancing to juggling or singing
happy and friendly – smiling, waving, poking its tongue out or laughing
fierce and strong – for example lifting weights or roaring.
Drawings must be in be colour.
The tiger drawing must be drawn in portrait orientation. A3 paper is preferred but A4 is acceptable.
Entries can be drawn with any medium including pencils, paint, crayons and the like, or electronically, for example, Adobe Illustrator or similar.
The tiger drawing must not have any background colour or background artwork.
Each drawing must be accompanied with a short description about the tiger (no more than 40 words).
You can enter up to 3 illustrations, choosing from the actions listed in clause 3(a).

How submissions will be judged:

Drawings with the most creativity and practicality of being reproduced for marketing purposes will win and have their drawing included in the Sydney Lunar Festival marketing campaign.
This is a game of skill, chance plays no part in determining the winners.
A judging panel will shortlist and select the winners of the festival competition.
The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into with respect for the competition.

Winners notification:

Winners will be notified by phone and email by a representative of the City of Sydney.
Winners will have 24 hours to confirm original hard-copy drawings can be mailed to the City of Sydney. If the prize winner fails to confirm this within this time period, the City of Sydney may in its absolute discretion award the prize to a runner up.
Original hard-copy drawings must be received by the City of Sydney within 1 week of notification. If the prize winner fails to confirm this within this time period, the City of Sydney may in its absolute discretion award the prize to a runner up.

Prizes:

6 winners will each receive a $150 gift card from Riot Art & Craft.
