Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Entry is open to all residents of Australia who are 16 years of age or over. However, employees and their immediate families of Battery World Australia Pty Ltd, Salmat Digital Pty Limited and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.

The competition commences on 14 July, 2014 at 0:01 (AEST) and concludes on 17 August, 2014 at 23:59 (AEST). (Promotional Period)

The competition will be advertised online, in-store and other media including but not limited to newspapers, television and radio.

To enter, participants must:

Purchase any Deep Cycle, Marine, VRLA or Motorcycle battery at any Battery World store; and
Log onto www.batteryworld.com.au, follow the links to the competition and register the required mandatory details to enter which include but not limited to name, contact number, email address, a valid invoice number, store of purchase and product purchased.
Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain the prior permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to enter.

Illegible, incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.

Entrants in the competition may enter as many times as they like, however, only one entry per transaction will be allowed and one prize per person is to be permitted.

The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity (including store receipt for purchase requirement) in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the promotion and/or Promoter. This includes, but not limited, to entrants and households using multiple email addresses, postal addresses, PO Box addresses to register single or multiple purchases. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.

Entries must be received by 23:59 (AEST) on 17 August, 2014. The time of entry will in each case be the time the online is received by the Promoter’s database. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.

Any entry that is made on behalf of an entrant by a third party will be invalid.

The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependant on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider.

The prize is a trip to see the V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000 event between the dates of 9 October, 2014 – 13 October, 2014. This prize includes

2 x VIP tickets to the Bathurst V8 event between the dates 9 October, 2014 to and including 13 October, 2014 valued total at $1,200. This permits special access to allocated VIP areas at event including exclusive pit entry access
Accommodation for 2 adults for 4 nights at the Havannah Apartments in Bathurst valued at $1,800
$1,000 cash in spending money
Flights for 2 adult economy fares from the nearest regional airport of the prize winner valued up to $4,000

Total prize value is up to $8,000 (including GST)

Prizes cannot be transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash.

If the winner is under the age of 18 as of the date of the draw, an adult must accompany the minor in the participation of the prize.

The winner/s (and their companion/s) are responsible for all other expenses including other meals (unless specified), drinks, other transfers (unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, taxes (excluding departure and any other flight associated taxes included within the prize), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

The winner and travelling companion must travel at the same time, must depart from the same airport location.

Travel must be taken between 9 October, 2014 and 13 October, 2014 at the time specified by the Promoter and must coincide with the dates of the scheduled Bathurst 1000 event 10 October, 2014 to 13 October, 2014. If the winner and travelling companion are, for whatever reason, unable to travel on a nominated date, or do not take an element of the prize within the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize or element thereof. Where possible if the winner and travelling companion are unable to travel they must give notice to the Promoter within 24 hours to the travel time stipulated. If the winner is unable to claim any part of the prize at the time and date stipulated then that part of the prize will be forfeited. i.e. if they miss their flights than this part of the prize will be forfeited but they will still be eligible for the rest of the Bathurst experience provided they can make their own way there at their own expense. There will not be an alternative winner announced if prize is forfeited.

The prize is for the specified dates of the event only. If the winner (for whatever reason) is unable to travel or does not take an element of the major prize within the time stipulated by the Promoter then the prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the major prize.

Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule. Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.

A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.

The Promoter and Salmat Digital Pty Limited make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. Travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

By entering this competition, entrants and their guest accept and acknowledge full responsibility for their decision to participate in the pit entry element of the prize should they be chosen as the winner. The winners release the Promoter and other organisers, their related bodies corporate, affiliates, officers, agents and employees, from all liabilities, loss and damage of any kind arising at any time out of or in connection with the acceptance of, and participation in, the prize. Without limiting the foregoing, the released parties not be liable for any injury, sickness or death, property loss or damage or other direct or indirect loss or damage of any kind, howsoever sustained or incurred, in connection with or arising out of the pit entry element of the prize or any other aspect of the prize. The winner acknowledges that they have been warned that there is a possibility of an accident causing injury, death or property damage in accepting the prize.

If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.

The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.

In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby assigns to the Promoter all right, title and interest in and to all copyright in any material created pursuant to the winner’s participation in any aspect of the prize (Works). The winner acknowledges that the Promoter is free to use the Works and to exercise its rights in relation thereto and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.

Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.

If the competition winner is under 18 years of age, the prize may be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian on behalf of the winner.

Each valid entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the promotional period will be entered into the draw. One (1) valid entrant will be drawn at random to become the winner. The draw will take place at Salmat Digital Pty Limited, Level 2, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney NSW 2060, on 20 August, 2014 at 14:00 (AEST).

If any particular draw is scheduled on a public holiday, the draw will be conducted on the following business day.

The winner will be notified within 2 days of the draw. The winner will be notified of their prize in writing and via contact number nominated on registration of entry. Winner of prizes valued over $250 will have their details published in the Public Notices section of The Australian newspaper on 26 August, 2014.

Prizes will be awarded to person named in the entry. However, in a dispute, will be awarded to the account holder of the entry mechanism used to submit their entry (i.e. holder of the invoice).

Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Promotional Period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter.

The prize must be claimed by 26 August, 2014 and if the prize remains unallocated or unclaimed, a further draw will be conducted on 27 August, 2014 at the same time and place as the original draw (subject to any directions given under all State Regulations). In the event of a re-drawn winner, their details will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian on 2 October, 2014 and notified in writing and via contact number nominate on registration of entry.

The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.

It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any directions given under State Regulation.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any direction given under State Regulation.

All entries become the property of the Promoter. All opt-in entries will be entered into a database and the Promoter may use the entrant’s names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid or other compensation unless otherwise advised by the entrant. By opting-in, entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants no longer consent to their details being used for future marketing purposes, the entrant should contact the Promoter on their details set out below. Any request to update, modify or delete the entrant’s details should be directed to the Promoter.

The Promoter is collecting the entrant’s personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winner). The entrant’s personal information may be disclosed to Salmat Digital Pty Limited for this purpose. If you are not willing for this to occur you cannot participate in the promotion.

Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. For purposes of public statements and advertisements the Promoter will only publish the winner’s surname, initial and state. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
