BBC Knowledge “Explore the World” Competition
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ENTRY INTO THE COMPETITION
1. Entry into the BBC Knowledge “Explore the World” competition (the “Competition”) is open to all residents of Australia 18 years or over. The Promoter is BBC Worldwide Australia Pty Limited (ABN 20 129 255 616) of Level 5, 6 Eden Park Drive, Macquarie Park NSW 2113(the “Promoter”). Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The officers, management and employees (or immediate family of an officer, manager or employee) of the Promoter, the agencies associated with this Competition, FOXTEL, and their related bodies corporate are not eligible to enter.

3. Competition begins 9.00am (AEDT) Friday 7 February 2014 and ends 9.00am (AEDT) Monday 3 March 2014 (“Competition Period”).

4. To enter the Competition, entrants must during the Competition Period:

a. Go to the official BBC Knowledge Australia Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/bbcknowledgeau;
b. become a fan of the BBC Knowledge Australia Facebook page using their personal Facebook account; and
c. go to the ‘Win $10,000 in travel voucher’ competition tab within the Facebook page;
d. choose their favourite BBC Knowledge presenter and in 25 words or less say why they would take that presenter along on their trip; and
e. complete all of the required data entry fields in the application including (but not limited to) full name, email address, postcode and phone number. Mandatory details will be indicated on the entry form.

5. All entries must be original and must not incorporate material which has been previously published. Incomplete entries or those which, in the opinion of the Promoter, infringes the intellectual property rights or any third party, contains any objectionable content, profanity or is potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory will be ineligible to win the prise. It is each entrant’s responsibility to inform the Promoter if his/her residential address, email address or phone number changes during the competition.

6. Only one entry per person is permitted for this Competition

PRIZE

7. There is one prize which consists of vouchers from Zuji Australia to the value of $10,000 (the “Prize”).

8. The total maximum Prize pool value is AUD$10,000.00. The Prize values are the recommended retail values as provided by the suppliers and are correct at the time of printing. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any changes in the value of the Prize occurring between publishing date and date the Prize is claimed. All Prize vales are in Australian dollars.

9. The Prize is no transferable or redeemable for cash. The Prize or any element of the Prize cannot be exchanged for any other prizes. The contents of the Prize will be at the Promoter’s sole discretion.

10. Entrants are advised that the use of the Prize may be subject to terms and conditions of the Zuji Pty Ltd (‘Prize Supplier’), including, without limitation, a time limit in which to use the Prize. It is the Prize winner’s responsibility to confirm with the Prize Supplier regarding any such applicable terms and conditions before use. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any cancellations, amendments or any other changes any terms of Prize Supplier to which the Prize relates, and will not offer a substitute prize under any circumstances.

Use the Prize will be deemed acceptance by the Prize winner of the below terms applicable to the Prize (subject to change) and the general website terms of Zuji.com.au:
A. Vouchers may be redeemed at www.zuji.com.au.
B. Vouchers will take 72 hours to activate, and will not be redeemable for 72 hours after purchase.
C. Voucher amounts are in Australian dollars (AUD) and can be redeemed in Australian Dollars only.
D. Vouchers and unused portions of vouchers should be spent within 12 months from the date of purchase, which is the “expiry” date indicated on the voucher.
E. Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are not refundable.
F. ZUJI Vouchers are partially redeemable. Any unused balance must be utilised by the end of the validity period. Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited after the voucher expires.
G. Any unused balance will be placed in the recipient’s voucher account and is not transferable. The original expiration date will apply to any unused balance.
H. Where the cost of purchase exceeds the available voucher balance, the voucher holder will be required to make up the difference between the purchase price and voucher balance.
I. ZUJI Vouchers may be purchased using Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
J. Vouchers are redeemable for flight and holiday bookings only. Vouchers can also be used for flight bookings that also include hotels, travel insurance or car hire but a credit card must be provided to secure the booking(s).
K. ZUJI reserves the right to close customer accounts and request alternative forms of payment if a fraudulently obtained voucher is redeemed through the ZUJI website
L. ZUJI disclaims responsibility for any lost or stolen Vouchers. The Voucher holder is responsible for the use and safety of the Voucher and is liable for all transactions on the Voucher.
M. To the extent permitted by law, ZUJI reserves the right to change any terms contained in these Voucher Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes to the Voucher Terms and Conditions will be published on www.zuji.com.au.
JUDGING AND AWARDING OF PRIZE
11. The Competition will be judged on the basis of originality, relevance, spelling, punctuation and creativity by a panel of judges selected by the Promoter, to be held at BBC Knowledge, Level 5, 6 Eden Park Drive, Macquarie Park, NSW 2113 on Wednesday, 5 March 2014. Chance plays no part in the selection of the Prize winner. The Prize winner will be notified via email on Wednesday, 5 March 2014 and his/her names published on the BBC Knowledge Australia Facebook site from Friday, 7 March 2014. The Prize must be claimed within 14 days of the publication of the Prize winner’s name.

12. If the Prize winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize by the stipulated date, then the Prize will be forfeited and a substitute prize will not be offered in lieu of the Prize.

GENERAL

13. Entry and continued participation in the Competition is dependent on entrants following and acting in accordance with the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, which can be viewed at http://www.facebook.com/terms.php.

14. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. The information an entrant provides will only be used for the purposes contemplated in these Terms and Conditions. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Competition must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook.

15. All entrants unconditionally and irrevocably release and discharge Facebook from any and all liability in relation to this Competition.

16. All entrants agree to provide the Promoter or the Promoter’s authorised agent with proof of identity, residency, age and/or proof of entry validity if selected as the Prize winner or if reasonably requested by the Promoter or the Promoter’s authorised agent. Proof of age, identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the sole discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a Prize winner cannot provide suitable proof that Prize winner will forfeit the Prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

17. By entering the Competition, each entrant warrant that their entry is their own original work, and that they own all rights (including copyright) in their entry. Each entrant indemnifies the Promoter for any costs or loss incurred by the Promoter as a result of this warranty bring false or incorrect.

18. No responsibility will be taken by the Promoter, BBC Knowledge, Zuji, FOXTEL and other relevant parties for any changes in dates, times or cancellations or other arrangements that may prevent the Prize winners from winning the Prizes or using the Prizes.

19. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to disqualify:

a. Any entry which, in the opinion of the Promoter, include any objectionable content, profanity or is potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory; or
b. Any individual who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who has in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in unlawful or improper conduct that is designed to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition or is generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promoter.

20. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, at any time before the awarding of the Prizes to cancel or vary the Competition or to cancel or vary the Prizes in any circumstances, including, without limitation, circumstances where in the Promoter’s opinion (which it shall form in its absolute discretion):
a. A Prize winner does not satisfy the Competition entry requirements; or
b. The Promoter cannot conduct the Competition or award the Prize/s for any reasin beyond its control.

21. In the event that the Promoter cancels or varies the Competition or varies or withdraws the Prizes it shall not:
a. Be liable to any person for any costs, loss or damage (including costs, loss or damage caused by any negligence) arising out of, in connection with, such cancellation, variation or withdrawal; or
b. Be required to conduct the Competition at any other time.

22. No responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for late, lost or misdirected entries and all entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt of the entry into the Promoter’s database and NOT time of transmission by the entrant. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for outdated or incorrect contact details or contact details by which the entrant cannot be contacted during business hours on the relevant dates.

23. A decision of the Promoter in relation to the conduct and judging of the Competition is binding and conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.

24. Entrants enter the Competition at their own risk. With the exception of liability which cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for (and the Prize winner and guest agree to release the promoter from liabilities related to) any loss or damage which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury or sickness suffered or sustained as a result of accepting or using the Prize or entering the Competition.

25. The Promoter collects entrants personal information (as the term is defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition (including, but not limited to, determining and notifying winners), subject to the terms of its privacy policy at: http://www.bbcworldwide.com/privacy.aspx. Entrants are advised that their personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and their names as the winner may be published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. Entrants are also advised that from time to time, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to third parties (including, but not limited to, third party prize providers) for the purpose of administering prizes or for other purposes contemplated in these Terms and Conditions.

26. By entering the Competition, all entrants agree that their name, image, biography and entries (including but not limited to, any written answers, photographs/images and audio-visual recordings) may be reproduced, published communicated, broadcast or shown to the public by the Promoter and/or the Prize Supplier in any media for their promotional purposes, without compensation to the entrants. Each entrant grants to the Promoter a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, and royalty-free licence in any such written answers, photographs/images and audio-visual recordings. Each entrant consents to any act of omission by the Promoter or Prize Supplier which may infringe any of the entrant’s moral rights (within the meaning of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth)), including i) failing to attribute (or correctly attribute) the entrant’s authorship of the entry; or ii) making any modifications, variation or amendment of any nature to the entry, whether or not it results in a material distortion or derogatory treatment of the entry.

27. Entrants are advised that “opt-in” entries will be entered into a database and the Promoter may use the entrant’s personal information for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide and without notice and without any fee being paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant. By opting-in, entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants no longer consent to their details being used for future marketing purposes by the Promoter, the Entrant should contact the Promoter on their details set out below. Any request to update, modify or delete the entrant’s details should be directed to the Promoter.

28. If you do ‘opt in’ to receive communications from Zuji, you agree that the storage and use of your personal information will be subject to Zuji’s privacy policies. If you later wish to ‘opt out’ of receiving communication from Zuji, you will need to communicate your decision to ‘unsubscribe’ or contact them directly.
