Terms & Conditions

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. Entries must comply with these conditions to be valid.
Entry is open to residents of Australia who are 18 years and over. An eligible entry must consist of two (2) or more people (“Eligible Group”). Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its agencies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter.
The competition commences at 09.00 EST on 25/08/14 and closes at 23.59 EDT on 03/12/14 (“Promotional Period”).
The entry period commences at 09.00 EST on 25/08/14 and closes at 17.00 EST on 12/09/14 (“Entry Period’’).
Unless otherwise stated, a reference in these conditions to “you” or “your” includes you and all other persons registered in your Eligible Group.
To enter, Eligible Groups must do all of the following during the Entry Period:
Visit hahnjumpstart.com.au and access the online entry form for this promotion;
Complete all sections of the online entry form (including but not limited to the full name, email, dates of birth, mobile number, postcodes and state of the team leader of the Eligible Group). Information about other members of the Eligible Group must be provided if your Eligible Group is selected as a Shortlisted Entrant (please refer to clause 10 below);
Create a project title;
Submit a team photo that includes each member of the Eligible Group by uploading direct from your computer/mobile device onto the entry form;
Tell us in 250 words or less about your idea and why you are passionate about making it a reality; and
Submit your online entry form, including all mandatory consents displayed on the entry form, during the Entry Period.
Limit applies of one entry per Eligible Group. Entrants can only be a member of one Eligible Group. Entrants acknowledge that by entering this competition and submitting their creative work, their ideas and creative work (including responses to any of the Promoter’s requests for information about the idea) will be made public.

This competition will take place in rounds, as set out in the table below. The best entries in each of Rounds 1 and 2, as determined by the judges in their sole discretion, will progress to the next round. The best and second best entries in the Final Round, as determined by the judges in their sole discretion, will be deemed the Winner and Runner-Up respectively. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter.

3 Final Round

The best Finalist, as determined by the judges in accordance with the judging criteria for this round, will be deemed the “Winner”.

The second best Finalist, as determined by the judges in accordance with the judging criteria for this round, will be deemed the “Runner-Up”.

People’s Choice The most popular Finalist entry, as determined by the number of Facebook “likes” will be deemed the “People’s Choice Winner” via the Hahn Webpage. The most popular Finalist entry, being entry with the largest number of “likes” on the Hahn Webpage will be determined the People’s Choice Winner. 15.00 EDT on 1/12/14 at The White Agency, 14 Argyle Place Millers Point NSW 2000
This competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. All entries will be judged individually on their merits in accordance with the judging criteria set out in the table in clause 8 above.

Shortlisted Entrants

If your entry is selected as a Shortlisted Entrant, you will be notified by email by 16/09/14 and asked to submit additional information (including, at your option, a video about your idea) about your entry and each individual team member of the Eligible Group will be required to provide personal information (including their full name, address, date of birth, mobile telephone and contribution to the idea). Additional information must be received by the Promoter within two (2) weeks of the request. If the additional information is not received within this timeframe your entry will be eliminated from consideration as a Finalist.
Shortlisted Entrants will be subjected to further judging based on the criteria outlined in the table in clause 8 above.

Finalists

Finalists will be required to attend the Judging Experience as detailed in clause 16 below. Only two (2) members of each Eligible Group may attend the Judging Experience.
If your entry is selected as a Finalist, you will be notified by email on 13/10/14, and all details of your entry submission (including your original entry and additional information or videos supplied following shortlisting) will be posted on the Hahn website at www.hahn.com.au.
If your entry is selected as a Finalist, you agree to allow your entry (including original entry, photograph, additional information or videos supplied and summary written by the Promoter) to be made public and allow any associated media/press/social media to promote your entry including photos and video footage of you.
If a Finalist does not accept the offer to attend the Judging Experience by 17/10/14 the Promoter may either assign the Judging Experience to the entry judged the next best entry in the competition or withdraw that Judging Experience unawarded.

Judging Experience

The Judging Experience consists of a trip for two (2) members of the Eligible Group (“Finalist Representatives”) that was selected as a Finalist to attend the “Judging Experience” on 02/12/14 and 03/12/14. The Judging Experience includes:
Return economy class flights for two (2) from their nearest Australian capital city to Sydney, including all airline and airport taxes, departing Monday, 01/12/14 and returning Thursday, 04/12/14;
Return transfers from Sydney airport;
Three nights’ accommodation in Sydney at a venue to be determined by the Promoter from 01/12/14 and checkout 04/12/14;
Breakfast on 02/12/14, 03/12/14 and 04/12/14, Lunch and Dinner on 02/12/14 and 03/12/14; and
Two tickets to attend the Judging Experience which includes but is not limited to the following activities:
A two hour media training session;
Mentoring session with Hahn’s mentors;
A beer tasting session with a brewer;
A dinner with all the other Finalist Representatives;
A half hour interview with the judging panel; and
Attendance at the winner’s announcement event on 03/12/2014.
In order to be judged the Winner, Runner-Up or People’s Choice Winner, you must attend all presentation events, training sessions and workshops and interviews during the Judging Experience, unless there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending (as determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion).
Each Eligible Group that is determined a Finalist in accordance with clause 8 will be responsible for nominating two (2) Finalist Representatives from that Eligible Group to attend the Judging Experience. The Promoter is not responsible for determining which group members will attend the Judging Experience or for mediating or otherwise determining any disputes that may arise between Eligible Groups.
For Finalist Representatives that reside in Sydney and NSW, the flight and transfer components of the Judging Experience may be substituted by private return transfers from their home to the event.
All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of accepting the offer to attend the Judging Experience are the sole responsibility of the Finalist Representatives. All ancillary costs (except as specified) including but not limited to insurance, taxes (excluding GST), in-room charges, meals and drinks (unless specified), transfers from Finalist Representative’s home to Final Representative’s nearest Australian capital city airport and any and all other expenses are the responsibility of the Finalist Representative. Finalist Representatives may also be required to provide a credit card imprint at check-in to the accommodation that will be used to charge for incidentals and/ or as a bond in case of damage to the property.
If selected as a Finalist Representative, you agree to attend the Judging Experience, including the presentation events and other events as notified by the Promoter including all business workshops and interviews during the Judging Experience. A maximum of two (2) individuals from each Eligible Group that were selected as a Finalist are able to attend the Judging Experience.
Finalist Representatives must be Australian residents and aged 18 years and over. The Finalists will be required to accept and confirm that the Finalist Representatives will attend the Judging Experience by 17/10/14 and provide details of the Finalist Representatives by 17/10/14. Upon accepting the Judging Experience, the Promoter will confirm the booking. If there are no members of the Finalist that are able to travel on the allocated specific dates, the Judging Experience will be forfeited. It is a condition of accepting the Judging Experience that Finalist Representatives arrange at their own expense valid travel insurance with the highest available coverage for their period of travel. Finalist Representatives travelling from Sydney or NSW will not require travel insurance. The Judging Experience is a single event trip for the Finalist Representatives and cannot be separated into separate trips or components.
Accommodation and flight arrangements, including suppliers, will be determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion. The Promoter may refuse any requested changes. If any requested change is accepted by the Promoter, change fees may be applicable.
The Judging Experience is subject to the terms and conditions of third party suppliers. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any winner as a result of the conduct of the third party suppliers or otherwise as a result of the Finalists accepting and/or attending the Judging Experience, except for any loss, damage or injury which is due to the negligence of wilful misconduct of the Promoter or which otherwise cannot be excluded by law.
Before the Judging Experience is awarded, the Finalists may be required to:
sign an agreement to release the Promoter from, and indemnify the Promoter against, any loss, damage or injury arising from the use or participating in the Judging Experience, except to the extent any loss, damage or injury is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct to the Promoter; and
provide evidence of valid travel insurance with the highest available coverage for their period of travel.
Before the Winner, Runner Up and People’s Choice Winner prizes are awarded, each team member of the Winner, Runner Up and People’s Choice Winner will be required to sign an agreement requiring the Winner, Runner-Up and People’s Choice Winner to participate in appearances and profile raising activities including, but not limited to the production of video content and photo stills, media interviews and appearances.
The Winner and Runner-Up will be notified at the Winners’ Announcement Event which will be held at 18.00 EDT on 3/12/14 at The Entourage’s Entrepreneur Development Centre, 1/609 Harris St, Ultimo NSW 2007. The Winner and Runner-Up’s (including all members of the relevant Eligible Group) names will be published on www.hahn.com.au.
The Winner will win the Major Prize and the Runner-Up will win the Runner-Up Prize as detailed in clause 31 below.

People’s Choice Winner

The Winner and the Runner-Up will also be eligible to win the People’s Choice Prize.
The most popular Finalist, as voted by the public (see the table in clause 8 above), will win the People’s Choice Prize. The People’s Choice Winner will be notified at the Winners’ Announcement Event which will be held at 18.00 EDT on 3/12/14 at The Entourage’s Entrepreneur Development Centre, 1/609 Harris St, Ultimo NSW 2007. Finalist Representatives will be notified of the location. The People’s Choice Winners (including all members of the relevant Eligible Group) names will be published on www.hahn.com.au.

Prizes

The Major Prize consists of a $20,000 prize and 10 hours of mentoring for the Major Prize Winner. The Runner-up Prize consists of a $5,000 prize and 10 hours of mentoring. The People’s Choice Prize consists of a $5,000 prize and 10 hours of mentoring. Total RRP value of cash prizes is $30,000. Prizes will be payable via electronic funds transfer. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving the prize are the sole responsibility of the relevant winner.
Mentoring will be determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion and may be with Hahn JumpStart mentors (as profiled on www.hahn.com.au/jumpstart) as well as industry professionals and held over a six month period commencing 4/12/14. Mentoring may be held face-to-face, or via phone or Skype, depending on the winner’s location. Mentoring subjects include but not limited to brand marketing, website, public relations and social media.
All third party prize suppliers will be determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion.
Participation in any activities related to the Major Prize, Runner-Up Prize or the People’s Choice Prize may require the completion of a Participation Agreement and Release form and is taken at the risk of the winner.

General

All prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. The judges’ decision is final and binding – no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, damage or injury as a result of technical or telecommunications problems, including security breaches. If such problems arise, then the Promoter may (where necessary with the approval of the relevant lottery authority) modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the promotion.
If any prize or any element of a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize or element of a prize of equal or greater value at the Promoter’s sole discretion, subject to any written directions from the relevant authorities. Winners will not be entitled to any additional compensation in the event that the prize or element of a prize has been substituted at equal or greater value.
The Promoter reserves the right to request verification of age, identity, residential address and any other information from entrants relevant to entry into or participation in this promotion. Verification is at the discretion of the Promoter, whose decision is final. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who provides false information, fails to provide information, conspires with others to gain an unfair advantage or who is otherwise involved in any way in manipulating, interfering or tampering with this promotion.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any winner as a result of the winner accepting and/or using a prize, except for any loss, damage or injury which is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct of the Promoter or which otherwise cannot be excluded by law.
In participating in this promotion entrants are providing information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. Entrants further warrant and agree that:

all of the Content has been personally created by them, and does not breach any intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights of any third party;
they have full authority to grant the Promoter the rights referred to in these Terms & Conditions; and
they will indemnify the Promoter against all loss, damage and liabilities arising from a breach of any of the warranties in these Terms & Conditions.
The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, determine whether any of the Content will be posted or remain posted on its websites. The Promoter reserves the right to vet or remove Content from its websites at any time, without prior notice and in its sole discretion (including if properly notified that such Content infringes any third party intellectual property rights). The Promoter may reject any entries that the Promoter, in its sole discretion, considers to be unlawful, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, politically incorrect, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, racist, ageist, sexist, objectionable with respect to religion, origin or gender, unsuitable for persons under the age of 18 years, or otherwise unsuitable, including, without limitation, any entry that:

depicts, suggests or promotes defamatory material;
depicts a celebrity or third party brand or third party product;
depicts persons under the age of 18 years or younger, unless they appear in the natural background;

depicts, suggests or promotes behaviour that would be considered detrimental to animals or the environment;
contains images, symbols, figures or language that are likely to be considered gratuitously offensive or demeaning to either gender or to any race, ethnicity, religion, culture, sexual preference, disability or minority group;

Entrants will be refused service of alcohol or provision of an alcoholic beverage if it would breach any relevant laws, codes or policies including those of the relevant liquor licensee relating to the responsible service of alcohol. The Promoter supports the responsible service of alcohol.
Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, image, entry, and/or voice in the event that they are a winner in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome) and/or promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
Entries remain the property of the Promoter.
