What is today’s See Canberra Facebook keyword?

Which of the 26 ticketed concerts held during the Canberra International Music Festival are you looking forward to the most and why?

The Canberra International Music Festival 2014 is set to electrify audiences, with 2014 being the final festival for award winning, Artistic Director Chris Latham.

The Canberra Times’ See Canberra magazine is giving readers the chance to win a Gold Double Pass to the Festival. A Gold Pass provides you with entry to 26 ticketed concerts over the 10 days of the Festival.
The Fire and the Rose is a testament to three years of research and Chris’s artistic prowess to discover a rich repertoire of works including rich new works, beloved favorites, and exciting world and Australian premiers.

The Festival program will also feature well known reflective works including the Bach Magnificat, Mozart Requiem, Boccherini Stabat Mater, and the Brahms Requiem, performed on period instruments.

This visionary festival program explores the centenary of the commencement of WW1 and the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of WW2 through the works of composers who served as soldiers on all sides of the Great War.

For nine days and two event-packed weekends, visitors can experience more than 30 ticketed and free events with concerts and architectural talks in Canberra’s national institutions.

The Festival’s home venues in 2014 will be the Albert Hall and the Fitter’s Workshop; two buildings with excellent acoustics and which indeed eminently reflect Canberra’s rich history.

The 20th Canberra International Music Festival program is an event not to be missed. Make sure you book early!

Tickets will be available at www.canberraticketing.com.au from 7 March2014. For more information, visit www.cimf.org.au.
