TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The 15 finalists chosen for the 2013 Women of the Future campaign will not be eligible to enter the 2014 campaign.

3. The competition is only open to female Australian residents aged between eighteen (18) and twenty-eight (28) years of age only and must be between these ages as at the 1st May 2014. They must be available to participate in an interview between 28 June 2014 and 11 July 2014 and who are available to travel to Sydney on 23 September 2014. Employees of the Promoter, associated agencies and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.

4. The entire promotion commences on May 1st, 2014 and closes on August 27th; 2014 at 17:00pm (AEST).There are three stages of the competition. The nomination stage, first round of judging to determine the semi-finalists and the second round of judging to determine the Judges Choice winner, People’s Choice award and runners up winners.

The nomination stage of the competition commences on May 1st, 2014 00:01am (AEST) and closes at 17:00pm (AEST) on June 25th, 2014.

First Round of Judging: will begin on 26th June 2014 to determine the fifteen (15) semi-finalist to move onto the second round of judging. Semi-finalists will be notified by June 27th 2014.

Second Round of Judging: which includes the reader voting for the People’s Choice Award which will begin on 31 July 2014 at 00:01am (AEST) and voting will close on 27 August 2014 at 17:00pm (AEST). The Judges Choice Award and runners up judging will begin on 23 July 2014.

5. One entry per person will be permitted.

6. To enter, Entrants must nominate themselves via the one of the following ways:

Online: Individuals must log on to www.wotf.aww.com.au, and follow the prompts to the competition page and fill in the entry form including full name, date of birth, mailing address, valid email address and daytime contact phone number, upload a current photo of themselves and provide one (1) paragraph of one hundred (100) words or less “telling AWW about yourself” and answer to the competition question in fifty (50) words or less: “How would you use this scholarship to achieve your dreams and benefit others?” and submit the entry as instructed.

Post: Individuals must send their entry on a A4 piece of paper (hand written or computer typed) to The Australian Women’s Weekly, Women of the Future Competition 2014, GPO Box 4178, Sydney, NSW 2001 including full name, date of birth, mailing address, valid email address and daytime contact phone number, attach a current photo of themselves and provide one (1) paragraph of one hundred (100) words or less “telling AWW about yourself” and answer to the competition question in fifty (50) words or less: “How would you use this scholarship to achieve your dreams and benefit others?”

7. The Photo must be:

In a JPEG form of a maximum of 3MB.
For postal entries the photograph must be a maximum size of 16×24
The photograph must be a clear photograph of the nominee’s face (front on not twisted)
Must be a recent photo no more than six (6) months old.
Smiling photographs will be accepted
No group photographs
Not wearing swimwear or lingerie
Cannot be sitting or crouching down
Not taken in a mirror (i.e “selfie”)
No filters, airbrushing tools etc to be used on the photograph submitted by either a camera, mobile app or social media applications.

8. Entrants are allowed to submit supporting material relating to the first component of their entry (telling Australian Women’s Weekly about themselves). For the removal of doubt, the entry will be judged solely on the response to the competition question in the first instance. Supporting material will only be considered for background feature appearing in Australian Women’s Weekly, in the event the entrant is choose as a semi-finalist.

29. Notification of winners: The People’s Choice Award winner, the Judges Choice Award winner and the six (6) runners’ up will be notified of their status by the 27th August 2014. The People’s Choice Award winner, the Judges Choice Award winner and the six (6) runners’ up will be required to attend the AWW Women of the Future Announcement event on September 23rd 2014.

30. Prizes:

The Judges Choice Award: The best (1) semi-finalist as determined by the judges will be deemed the winner of the Judges Choice Award and winner of the women of the future competition, will receive:
A$20,000 – awarded in the form of a transfer paid into the winner’s nominated Australian Bank account (details to be supplied to the promoter at winner notification)

The People Choice Award: The best (1) semi-finalist as determined by the voting will be deemed the winner of the People Choice Award and winner of the women of the future competition, will receive:
A$20,000 – awarded in the form of a transfer paid into the winner’s nominated Australian Bank account (details to be supplied to the promoter at winner notification)

The next best six (6) semi-finalists as determined by the judges will be deemed the runner’s up of the women of the future competition will each receive:
A$10,000 – awarded in the form of a transfer paid into the winner’s nominated Australian Bank account (details to be supplied to the promoter at winner notification)

The Judges Choice Award winner, People’s Choice Award winner and six (6) runners up winners will also receive, a “Travel package” which includes:

One (1) x return economy flight to Sydney for the Winner’s nearest capital city to be redeemed on September 23rd, 2014 to coincide with the Women of the Future event, valued at up to $500.00 (including taxes, depending on point of departure)

One (1) x night’s accommodation in a standard single room in a minimum of three (3) star hotel, valued at up to A$500.00

Transfers to and from the airport to hotel in Sydney only, valued at up to $200.00

Transportation to and from the Women of the Future Announcement event in Sydney (exact location to be determined by the Promoter) from the hotel, valued at up to A$100.00

In the event a winner or runner’s up lives within 200km of Sydney Metropolitan area, the flight component of the prize will not be included. No alternative prize or cash will be awarded in lieu of the flights.

The total prize pool is valued at up to $110,400 (including GST) (including taxes, depending on point of departure) Prize does not include any ancillary costs associated with redeeming this prize. These are the responsibility of the winner.

For the removal of doubt in the event that the People’ Choice Award winner and Judges Choice Award winner is deemed to be the same person, each prize will be awarded to the winning person. In this event, the person will receive $40,000 and the title of “People’s Choice Award winner and Judges Choice Award winner”. In the event there is one (1) winner then only one (1) travel package will be awarded.

For the removal of doubt in the event that the People’ Choice Award winner and runner’s up in the judge’s choice award is deemed to be the same person, each prize will be awarded to the winning person. In this event, the person will receive $30,000 and the title of “People’s Choice Award winner and runner’s up”. In the event there is one (1) winner then only one (1) travel package will be awarded.
