Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional advertisements form part of these terms and conditions.

Promotion is open to all WA residents aged 18 and over, living in a home delivery service area.

To be eligible for one of ten (10) $500 Caltex Starcash Cards, new customers must subscribe to any home delivery package – The West Australian and/or The Weekend West before 4pm Friday, 4 April, 2014 and quote the applicable offer code either by calling 1800 811 855 or online at subscriber.thewest.com.au/freefuel

Existing home delivery customers are automatically entered into the competition to win one of ten $500 Caltex Starcash Cards. Existing home delivery customers DO NOT need to enter via online or telephone. If you would like to confirm you will be entered into the draw, please contact The West Australian’s Subscriber Services Team on 1800 811 855 during business hours.

The prize draw will take place at 10am Wednesday, 9 April, 2014 at The West Australian offices and the ten winners will be notified by telephone. The winners will be drawn randomly from the existing Home Delivery database.

Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of participating service providers.

The Card may only be used at Caltex/Ampol outlets where EFTPOS facilities are available and operational. The Card can be used to purchase (or part pay in conjunction with cash) any goods or services available at these outlets.

Where a signature panel is provided on a Card, the Customer must sign the Card immediately. Any relevant Card which has not been signed will not be accepted.

If a Card has a PIN verification, the customers must enter the PIN at the time of purchase.

Customer must ensure all details on any receipt are correct. Any dispute regarding receipt details is between the Customer and the Caltex outlet.

Caltex will have no liability to the Customer where an authorised dealer refuses to supply products or services to the Customer.

The Card remains the property of Caltex. If any Card is lost or stolen, or if the Customer becomes aware of the possibility of any unauthorised use of the Card, the Customer must immediately notify Caltex on 1300 365 096. Until the Customer has given Caltex such notice, the Customer is liable for any unauthorised use of the Card. Caltex will not replace a Card with a face value of less than $150. If Caltex replaces any Card, a card replacement fee of $50.00 will be charged.

The total amount of purchases made by a Customer on a Card must not exceed the face value of the Card or reissued value of a replacement Card. The Caltex EPTPOS system will check for any purchase in excess of this limit. If the Customer’s purchases exceed the face value of the Card, the Customer is liable to Caltex for the payment in cash of any such excess.

The Card expires on the last day of the month stated on the Card, or if no month is stated, 12 months after the date of purchase of the Card. The Card cannot be used after the expiry date. Any balance that remains on the card after expiry will not be available for use.

Cards can only be used at unmanned locations if they have PIN verification. Therefore, the Customer must request PIN verification when ordering a Card if the Customer wishes to use a Card at an unmanned location.

Any additional costs incurred as a result of receiving the prize will be at the expense of the customer.

Prize must be taken as stated and is non-transferable, not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash.

Participation in the Subscribe and Win Free Fuel constitutes the customer’s unconditional agreement to and acceptance of the Terms and Conditions. The Customer is responsible for insuring his or her familiarity with the Terms and Conditions. The Promoter’s decision not to enforce a specific restriction does not constitute a waiver of that restriction or of the Terms and Conditions generally.

It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name and suburb published for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, participants signify their acceptance of all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.

The entrant consents to the use by West Australian Newspapers Limited and its related corporations (as defined by the Corporations Act 2001) of the entrants’ details and acknowledges that West Australian Newspapers and its related corporations, may, at its discretion disclose and use those details for the purpose of providing them with goods or services, communicating with entrants, planning, research, product and business development and sales, the promotion and marketing (whether target, direct or indirect) of their businesses, services or products or those of a third party which it believes may be of benefit to them. The details will also be used to investigate complaints, as required or permitted by any law, to enable West Australian Newspapers to perform its obligations under this or any other agreement and to ensure that an entrant performs their obligations under this or any other agreement.

If an entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in clause 20. please write to The West Australian (attention Group General Counsel), GPO Box D162 Perth WA 6840, or contact the Group General Counsel on 08 9482 3111 and West Australian Newspapers will ensure that the details are not used for that purpose.

The Promoter’s decision is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into. The West Australian reserves the right to amend rules if considered necessary without notice.
