Terms and Conditions
2020 Plane Spotter Photography Competition
1. General
1.1 The following terms and conditions will apply to this Gold Coast Airport Plane Spotter
Photography Competition (‘Competition’) and the subsequent Promotional Image
Competition (together referred to as “the Competitions”) which are conducted by Gold
Coast Airport Pty Ltd ACN 077 200 821 at 1 Eastern Avenue, Bilinga QLD 4225
Australia who can be contacted on 07 5589 1100 (‘Promoter/we/us/our’)
1.2 By entering the Competitions you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be
bound by these terms and conditions.
1.3 We may disqualify any participant who fails to comply with these terms and conditions,
manipulates the participation process, acts unfairly, dishonestly or unlawfully or who
tries to influence the Competitions by disruption, harassment, annoyance of employees
or representatives of us or other participants, even if the basis for disqualification is only
determined after the Selection Date.
1.4 The Competition may have been promoted on Facebook and Instagram and you
acknowledge that the Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by,
or associated with, Facebook or Instagram and you agree to release Facebook and
Instagram from any liability associated with the Promotion.
1.5 We reserve the right to cancel or amend the Competitions and these terms and
conditions with one month’s notice on our website.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Entry into the Competition is open to Australian residents aged 10 years or older,
excluding directors, management, employees and their immediate families of the
Promoter (“Eligible Entrants”).
2.2 If a Competition winner is under the age of 13, before they can redeem their prize, they
must obtain consent from their parent or legal guardian to do so and must be
accompanied during their prize by an Australian or New Zealand resident over the age
of 18.
2.3 The Competition commences at 12.01 am (Qld Time) on Monday 3rd February 2020 and
closes at 23.59 pm (Qld Time) on Friday 21st February 2020 (“Promotion Period”).
Entries received outside the Promotion Period will be rejected.
3. Entry Methods
3.1 Eligible Entrants may enter the Competition by submitting a photographic image which
features an aircraft which either originated from or is landing at Gold Coast Airport to the
Promoter’s website: www.goldcoastairport.com.au/corporate/plane-spotting (“Entry”).
3.2 Eligible Entrants must provide all information requested by the Promoter at the time of
entry. Incomplete, indecipherable, or non–compliant entries will not be accepted.

3.3 The Promoter is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected entries, or for any technical
difficulties or unavailability of any entry method during the Promotional Period.
4. Entry specifications
4.1 Entries must:
a. be submitted as a digital file in PNG or JPG format and must be no larger than 10MB
b. be a single image (not collages or images containing multiple images); and
c. not, in the Promoter ‘s view, contain unlawful or objectionable content.
4.2 By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant that it is your own original work and
does not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, or any
law, and does not contain malicious code, such as viruses, timebombs, cancelbots,
worms, trojan horses or other potentially harmful programs. You agree to indemnify
Gold Coast Airport against all costs and claims arising from a breach of this warranty.
5. Details and Conduct of the Competition
5.1 This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners.
5.2 A judging panel of our representatives will review the Entries and select (at their sole
discretion) up to 20 winning Entries (“Winners”). Judging will be undertaken by the
panel from 24th February to 6th March 2020 based on the following criteria:
a. promotion of the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales region;
b. originality of the entry; and
c. creativity of the entry.
5.3 The Winners will be notified by email within 2 (two) working days of the judging
conclusion.
5.4 Our decision as to the Winners of the Competition will be final and binding on all
participants and no correspondence will be entered into by us in this regard.
6. The Prize
6.1 The Winners will receive exclusive airside access at Gold Coast Airport to photograph
the arrival and departure of aircraft movements throughout the morning of Saturday 28th
March 2020, subject to applicable security laws and procedures, as well as federal
police checks (“the Prize”).
6.2 Current photographic identification is required to redeem the Prize.
6.3 The Prize may only be redeemed by the Winners (and in the event that a Winner is
under the age of 13, their accompanying guardian who is over the age of 18 years).
6.4 The Prize must be redeemed and used on 28th March 2020 only. If the Prize is not
redeemed and used on this date the Winner will forfeit the Prize.
6.5 The Prize is non-transferrable and non-exchangeable for cash, credit or any other item.
6.6 We may declare the Prize unclaimed if a winner is unable to prove their identity to our
reasonable satisfaction.

6.7 The Prize is provided on an ‘as is’ basis and we make no representation or warranty as
to the quality or fitness for purpose of the Prize. To the extent permitted by law, all
conditions, warranties, guarantees, rights, remedies, liabilities and other terms implied
or conferred by statute, custom or the general law that impose any liability or obligation
on us are excluded, however nothing contained in these terms and conditions excludes,
restricts or modifies the application of any provision, the exercise of any right or remedy,
or the imposition of any liability under the Australian Consumer Law, provided that, to
the extent that such law permits us to limit our liability, then the our liability is so limited.
6.8 The Prize does not include visas and permits or any other fees incurred by the winner in
connection with the use of the Prize.
7. Promotional Image Competition
7.1 Winners who validly redeem the Prize in accordance with item 6 must provide a
minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 digital photographs taken during the Prize to the
Promoter (“Promotional Images”).
7.2 The Promotional Images must be delivered to the Promoter by email to
Planespotters@qldairports.onmicrosoft.com by 9.00am (Qld time) on Monday 30th
March 2020 (“Promotional Image Entries”).
7.3 From the Promotional Image Entries provided, one (1) photo will be selected by a
judging panel (“Promotional Image Winner”) based on the following criteria:
a. creativity; and
b. originality.
7.4 Judging will be undertaken by the panel from Monday 30th March to Wednesday 1st April
2020.
7.5 The Promotional Image Winner will be notified by email on Friday 3rd April 2020 and will
receive a voucher to Camera House to the value of $1,000 AUD (“Promotional Image
Prize”).
7.6 The Promotional Image Prize must be taken as stated and is not transferable,
exchangeable or redeemable in any way. The Promotional Image Winner is responsible
for any costs it incurs in connection with accepting the Promotional Image Prize.
7.7 The Promoter may request that the Promotional Image Winner provides proof of identity,
age, and proof of residency as a condition of receipt of the Promotional Image Prize.
8. Ownership of Entries and Promotional Images
8.1 Copyright in Entries and any Promotional Images remains with the Eligible Entrant. The
Eligible Entrant grants the Promoter a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive,
royalty free licence to use the Entries and any Promotional Images at the sole discretion
of the Promoter, including for any marketing or promotional purposes.
9. Use of information
9.1 Any confidential or personal information you provide us in connection with the
Competitions will be dealt with by us in accordance with our privacy policy which is
available at https://pdf.qldairports.com.au/privacy-policy.
9.2 We may record or use any information you provide us for the purpose of conducting the
Competitions and any other purpose set out in our privacy policy.

9.3 We may disclose and publish the name and any other particulars of the Winners
(including photographs) for publicity and promotional purposes and if you are a Winner
you agree to co-operate with and participate in any activities organised by us in this
regard.
9.4 The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Competitions and
may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including, but not limited
to, Australian regulatory authorities. The Promoter may use the information for
promotional, marketing and publicity purposes including sending electronic messages.
9.5 The Promoter may share information with its promotional partners who may contact
Eligible Entrants with special offers.
10. General
10.1 To the extent permitted by the law, you agree to release and hold harmless the
Promoter and its personnel from any expenses, costs, liabilities, claims, actions,
proceedings, damages, judgments and losses of any kind whatsoever (including
consequential and economic losses, property loss, damage and damages for injury,
including personal injury and death) (Losses) incurred or suffered by you and which
arise out of, are caused by, are attributable to or result from your participation in this
Competition (including your use and/or enjoyment of the Prize) except to the extent
such Losses are caused or contributed to by a wrongful or negligent act or omission of
the Promoter or our personnel.
10.2 To the extent permitted by the law, you agree to indemnify the Promoter and our
personnel against any Losses incurred or suffered by the Promoter which arise out of,
are caused by, are attributable to or result from any wrongful or negligent act or
omission of yours.
10.3 In the event of a force majeure or if anything occurs that corrupts or affects the
administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper and lawful conduct of this
Competition, we may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and we will
not be liable for any Losses incurred or suffered by you which arise out of, are caused
by, are attributable to or result from any such cancellation, termination, modification or
suspension.
10.4 Unless otherwise stated in these terms and conditions or other materials produced by
us in connection with this Competition, you are responsible for any taxation liability
(including any GST liability) or other government charges or reporting requirements
which arise directly from your participation in the Competition or receipt of the Prize (if
any). If participation in the Competition or receipt of a Prize involves a taxable supply
being made, then you are solely responsible for paying any amount charged by the
entity making the supply in respect of its GST liability on the supply. We do not offer
any advice or accept any responsibility with respect to these matters.
10.5 Should any provision of these terms and conditions be held to be unenforceable,
such provision will be deemed severed from these terms and conditions without
affecting the enforceability or validity of the remaining provisions which shall continue in
full force and effect.
